MIDFIELDER Scott Donnelly says he could be a Wycombe Wanderers player by the end of the week.

Blues have made the Aldershot ace an offer which the 22-year-old spent the weekend mulling over.

The League Two Shots are desperate to keep hold of their out-of-contract star and have made him an improved offer.

But Donnelly has got his heart set on a move and favours the chance to link up again with his former Shots and QPR boss Gary Waddock at Wycombe.

He said: “Wycombe is my favoured one. Hopefully it will not take too long and hopefully by the end of the week we might have sealed the deal.

“Aldershot know the situation and I’ve told them that I am waiting to see what other things happen.

“There’s a few other things going on but nothing as attractive as Wycombe.”

If the deal comes off it will be second time lucky for the Blues who saw a cash bid turned down for the former England U17 international and his Shots team-mate striker Marvin Morgan by the Hampshire outfit in January.

Waddock, meanwhile was typically coy on the situation regarding Donnelly who scored 14 times from the Shots midfield last season.

He said: “It’s no secret that I like him. What we wanted to do last season didn’t come off and we will have to watch this space.”
