BEACONSFIELD’S Luke Donald has called for an overhaul of the Ryder Cup selection process despite being one of captain Colin Montgomerie’s picks for Celtic Manor next month.
Donald believes European players on the US PGA Tour don’t get a fair shot at selection and this year world number eight Paul Casey and two-time winner in America this year Justin Rose have both missed out.
Donald said: “The European Tour has to look harder at the system. I understand they want to protect the European Tour but at the same time the top guys are going to want to play against the best players in the world and you shouldn't be penalised for that.”
