BATSMAN Jamie Benning is in line to make a second debut for Bucks in the traditional season curtain-raiser with Oxfordshire on Sunday.

He will play for the minor counties league side again this season after eight years of playing first-class cricket for Surrey and Leicestershire.

Benning originally made his debut for Bucks as a 17-year-old in 2001 and will turn out for them again in their traditional one-day friendly with Oxfordshire at Aston Rowant.

The 27-year-old former England U19 Test player takes the place of injury-hit former Gloucestershire all-rounder Mark Hardinges, who leaves after two years with Bucks.

Bucks, skippered again by Jason Harrison this season, include promising young Chesham seamer Tom Helm in their squad to face Oxfordshire as they prepare for the new season. The match starts at 11am.

Bucks squad: J Harrison (Oxford) capt, H Taj (Gerrards Cross), J Benning, P Sawyer, M Eyles (High Wycombe), M Payne (Tring Park), M Watson (Gerrards Cross), D Cranfield-Thompson (High Wycombe), W Miller (Farnham Royal), T Helm (Chesham), R Zaman (High Wycombe), F Ali (Gerrards Cross), S Stanway (Tring Park).
