HIGH Wycombe’s Chloe Rogers is one game away from a place in hockey’s European Championship final after helping England to three wins from three in the group stage.

She was on the scoresheet in England’s first match of the tournament, a comfortable 4-0 win over Belgium, and the midfielder starred in the second game against hosts Germany, which resulted in a 2-0 victory.

Rogers kept her place in England’s final group match against Ireland, where they had to come from behind to win 3-1 and claim top spot in Group B and wrap up a semi final spot.

England are in action in their semi final tonight, where they face pre-tournament favourites after they surprisingly finished second in their group.

Also in the squad are Alex Danson and Kerry Williams, who were living in a flatshare in High Wycombe as part of the England team’s preparations for the tournament at their base in Bisham.

Reading forward Danson got the tournament off and running with England’s first goal of the campaign against Belgium, whilst Williams – a Leicester team-mate of Rogers – has been restricted to substitute appearances so far.
