ANTHONY Grant has been offered a new contract at Chelsea.

But the on-loan midfielder wants to put signing any new deal for the Premiership champions on hold until he has finished the season at Wycombe.

He said: "It's nice to know it is there but at the moment all I want to concentrate on is winning promotion with Wycombe and I don't want anything to get in the way of that."

Grant's performances in a Wycombe shirt have helped him net a new deal with the Premiership champions.

He said: "Chelsea have come and watched my games since I have been at Wycombe. They phone me and tell me how they think I've done and feed it back to the coaching staff.

"I have been told there is a contract there and hopefully we can talk after Wycombe have been promoted. I know the offer is there but at this moment in time all I want to do is concentrate on Wycombe.

"It means a lot to have been offered another contract by Chelsea. I have been there since I was eight."

But the 19-year-old says he has not ruled out the possibility of signing for Chelsea and then being loaned back to Wycombe again next season.

He said: "The Wycombe fans could see me on loan again next season. It has been good."

Grant is currently one of six players on loan at Adams Park while the club has had eight loanees in total this season.
