Wasps dumped out the top four

Wasps 17, Gloucester 25.

WASPS need to win at Newcastle on Wednesday and then Leeds on Saturday to stand any chance of making the play-offs after losing 25-17 to Gloucester at Adams Park this afternoon in a result that takes them out the top four.

After eight wins in a row, since losing at Kingsholm, Wasps failed to even collect a bonus point in defeat and have now put themselves under huge pressure to perform in the north next week.

And with Bath also winning this weekend Lawrence Dallaglio has almost certainly played his last competitive game in Wycombe.

Wasps needed a top-two finish to secure a home semi-final.

Raphael Ibanez scored both Wasps' tries against Gloucester, who regain top spot with this result, but in front of a 10,000 capacity crowd, Wasps paid a huge price for making a dreadful start that saw them trail 12-0 after just 11 minutes.

Full match report to follow.
