WASPS have signed tight head prop Sam Heard from National Division One side Cornish Pirates until the end of the season.
With Phil Vickery, Pat Barnard and Nick Adams all injured, the club were severely depleted in the front row.
Director of rugby Ian McGeechan said: "As we are currently without three tight head props due to injury, the RFU and PRL gave the club permission to register another player for the remaining weeks of this season.
"We brought in Sam as someone who has a good reputation in the First Division, and we are very pleased to welcome him into the London Wasps squad until the end of the season."
Heard was not in the squad against Gloucester yesterday, with Tom French and Tim Payne starting and Michael Holford coming on.
