EXCLUSIVE.
WANDERERS' boss Paul Lambert could be heading out of Adams Park following this evening's play-off semi-final defeat at Stockport County.
It looks very much as though the defeat, which ended Wanderers' Wembley hopes, may be the last game for the former Champions League winner.
He said he was going away to think about his future following Blues' 1-0 defeat at Edgeley Park which deprived his team of a showpiece Wembley final.
He said:"I don't know what I am going to do. I need to have a few days to go away and think about it."
In his two years at the helm, Lambert has guided the Blues to Carling Cup semi-final and the League Two Play-off semi-final.
He said: "Let me get these few days out of the way and I will think about what I'm going to do.
"I really don't know at this moment in time. Football is an emotional game.
"I roughly know what I'm going to do. It is not just this game, there are loads of things going through my brain at the minute. I'll take a few days and then I will let the right people know."
It was a shock to the players.
Defender Russell Martin said: "I just hope he stays because he has been brilliant for this club."
