NEW arrival Ollie Evans will captain the Wasps side that plays in the JP Morgan 7s tonight.

Evans, who joined the black and golds from Bath University in the summer, leads a team of 12 Academy players seeking to win Pool C of the tournament at Franklin's Gardens.

Former USA U20s captain Tom Bliss will get a first run-out for Wasps after arriving from Loughborough University.

The Adams Park side will face Harlequins, Saracens and hosts Northampton Saints in their pool.

Oskar Hirskyj-Douglas and George Eastwell, who both featured in last season's JP Morgan 7s series, are also included, as is Marlow's Tom Howe.

He said: "Our first team is away in Portugal at the moment so it's a good opportunity for the Academy players. We've got a lot of young people going into the tournament.

"I think it's a great opportunity for the young ones to get experience of some competitive rugby."

Wasps Academy Manager Matt Davies said: ‘The Premiership Rugby 7s provides a fantastic opportunity for our young players to represent the club and demonstrate their own potential. We are all looking forward to a great occasion and coming away with a performance Wasps can be proud of."

Gus Jones - who won the Junior World Championship with England U20s in the summer - Ollie Lyons, Tom Chapman, Harry Sheppard, Harry Glover, Piers O'Connor and Charlie Dockery make up the remainder of the Wasps squad.

The winners of each of the four groups will progress to the finals day at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday, August 8.
