DESPITE a summer of strengthening, Wasps are still unlikely to figure strongly in the LV=Cup this season, with Dai Young admitting it’s third in their list of priorities.
He said: “We’ve got a squad of 41. Things would have to be quite rosy on the injury front to really have a crack at three competitions.
“If you look at the teams that have won the LV=Cup it’s predominantly with second string and strong academy players with a sprinkling of fringe players.
“It’s not the squad that plays in Europe and the Premiership.
“I don’t go into any competition thinking we’re not worried about it, but it certainly goes Aviva Premiership, Europe, LV.
I”t falls behind in importance to the other two, but if we’re in a position to go for it then we’ll go for it.”
Wasps are grouped with Leicester, Newcastle and Scarlets.
