DAI Young has described Wasps' Twickenham victory in The Stinger yesterday as a signal the club is out of 'the dark days'.

Nearly 40,000 fans saw them beat Gloucester 38-30 to return to seventh in the Aviva Premiership and on course for a European play-off in May.

Young said: "This was a real celebration that we have come out of the dark days, not necessarily on the pitch but certainly off it.

"We couldn't have dreamt of staging a game like this over the last two seasons. Financially we were in a huge mess but we have pulled ourselves out of it now.

"We're back staging big games and big events and it shows how far we have come off the field in the last ten months.

"It's a message to everybody that we are coming out of the dark days and are in a much better position as a club.

"Hopefully it's the start of something. The future could be exciting."
