WASPS will be unrecognisable from the side that collapsed to their heaviest ever Premiership defeat last weekend when they host Stade Francais on Sunday.

They lost 74-13 to Northampton last Saturday in their final Aviva Premiership match of the campaign, but changes to the starting XV will reach double figures this weekend as Dai Young and co aim to take a giant stride towards the European Champions Cup.

Wasps entertain Stade at Adams Park on Sunday before going to Paris next Saturday, with the overall winners taking the 20th and final place in the top tier of European compeition next season.

Young said: “There is a lot of hurt around the camp and a lot of embarrassment so it may be the ideal time to go into this game.

“If [last week] was our best team you’d be scratching your head a little bit thinking where to turn, but we’re expecting changes in double figures so it’s pretty much a different team.

“But no matter who was on the field, we win together and we lose together. We’re hurting as a club so I’d like to think one thing we won’t lack is a little bit of hunger and a little bit of bite and desire.”

Christian Wade apart, Young has nearly a full strength squad to pick from after resting most of his key players at Franklin’s Gardens.

He said: “We have to put that over our shoulder for the next two weeks and get on with it, and this is a game that will focus the minds very quickly.

“We’ve got to be sensible about it because they’ve got people who can really hurt you if you become loose, but I’m sure by the time kick off comes we’ll be organised and refreshed.

“We’ve got two games now to get into Europe. We feel like we’ve been given another chance and it’s a great opportunity for us.”
