HARLEQUINS haven’t had the best of starts this season; they struggled to beat London Irish on the opening day and were then humiliated in front of their own fans by Saracens in a 39-0 crushing.

To many observers, these are irrefutable signs that Quins have drifted back to the pack lately and the big four in England is now a big three.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young isn’t convinced.

He takes his team to The Stoop tomorrow and insists their opponents still have all the armoury at their disposable to damage any side in the country.

He said: ”It might look like Quins have come back to the pack, but it looked like that early doors last season and then they went on an eight-game winning streak or something.

“They’re capable of beating anyone and are still one of the top four teams.

“Things haven’t gone totally to plan for them in the first two games but it’s only a matter of time before they play like they can play.

“It was a bad night for them against Saracens and we had a good weekend, but that’s irrelevant.

“They are too good a squad with far too many quality players and too good a coaching set up to let that affect them and the only way I see them reacting is in a positive manner.

“We’re expecting them to be at their best and we all know Quins playing well are a very difficult team to beat.”
