COVENTRY City Council have unanimously passed a vote on Wasps' takeover of the Ricoh Arena this afternoon, clearing the path for the rugby club to move away from Adams Park.
Wasps are holding a press conference at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow morning, when it is expected they will make their plans clear.
The council's decision to back what is believed to be a £19.5m deal was expected after Wasps owner Derek Richardson presented his plans to them last night.
Wasps have been at Adams Park for 12 years, winning eight trophies in that time. But they have made no secret of their plans to secure stadium ownership and a long-term home to sustain the club financially.
However, the move 80 miles away to Coventry will not be welcomed either by fans who have followed them from London to High Wycombe, or supporters in High Wycombe.
