THERE is at least one Wasps player who won’t be daunted by reputations when he runs out against Leinster in the European Rugby Champions Cup on Sunday evening.

The Irish thoroughbreds won their third European title in four years in 2012 and are ranked first in European club rugby rankings.

They have beaten everyone who is anyone during a sustained period of dominance and set a string of European records along the way.

Gordon D’Arcy, Cian Healy, Jamie Heaslip, Rob Kearney and former Wasp Eoin Reddan are just some of the stars in their ranks.

But Nathan Hughes admits he knows next to nothing about them and can’t name a single player in their squad.

He said: “I don’t really follow rugby outside of England and New Zealand so don’t know much about Leinster.

“I heard they won a few years ago but I don’t know anything other than that.

“I do know Brian O’Driscoll used to play for them, but I can’t name any of their players now.

“A few of the boys have told me about them though and I know it’s a hard place to go and win.

“But I hope we can change that. It’s a big stage and we’ve beaten Northampton and Bath so we’ve proved we can deliver big games. We just need to switch on mentally and if we get the opportunity we need to deliver.”
