COUNCILLORS will tonight discuss the future of the stadium shared by High Wycombe's two top sports teams.
Wycombe Wanderers Football Club and Wasps Rugby Club could be moving away from their Adams Park base if plans for a new 17,000-20,000 all-seater stadium at Booker airfield come to fruition.
Wycombe District Council want to “resolve issues of the current stadium within the next five years”, a report said.
It stated the council would “agree” to work with both clubs during discussions over proposals to move from Adams Park – but a further consultation is “not yet appropriate”.
The report concluded talks between the three parties was “an opportunity for the council to help ensure the continued sporting and economic success of the district”.
The plans are to be discussed at an open meeting of the council's cabinet tonight from 7pm at their offices in Queen Victoria Road.
