WANDERERS' new signings Gus Uhlenbeek and Mike Williamson have revealed that Blues boss Tony Adams was a major factor behind their coming to Wycombe.
The duo signed for Blues on Thursday, along with Joe Burnell and Gary Silk, as Adams looks to strengthen his squad in order to make an assault on the Coca Cola League Division Two championship.
And defender Williamson, 20, wants to learn off the former England and Arsenal centre half.
He said: "Tony Adams was the main attraction. I want to learn off him. He said to me that I was a young centre half with a lot to learn but thought I've got what it takes.
And right back Uhlenbeek is keen to get back to football after leaving Chesterfield in April.
He said: "I talked to Tony Adams about coming and I had a look around and it's a nice ground with a nice set up.
"There were a few other clubs but I didn't want to wait. I just wanted to make a decision and it couldn't be better than Wycombe with Tony Adams as the manager.
"You can tell he's had a good career and been playing at the highest level from the way he talks and the way he tries to bring certain aspects of the game across.
"Good players don't always make a good manager but it certainly helps.
"He's got a lot of experience and so he can bring that experience to the team and try and bring his knowledge of the game to the players.
"It's now up to us to take that on board."
Uhlenbeek, who signed a one-year deal with the club, has played for a variety of clubs, including Ipswich, Sheffield United and Bradford and he has been impressed by what he has seen so far in three training sessions.
He said: "I'm trying to get to know the names but the guys have been superb. The standards have been good and the fitness has been good. Now we've got a couple of weeks to take on board what Tony is saying."
Williamson, who has signed a year-long loan deal from Southampton is keen to play in the centre of defence.
He said: "I want to play first team football. I've played in the reserves every week and it's a bit false. You don't play with the same 11 every week and you can end up playing too much reserve team football."
Both players will now be hoping to make their debut on Friday when Blues take on Beaconsfield SYCOB at Holloway Park (ko 7.45pm).
