A teenage girl and a man in his twenties were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital after a crash involving a skip lorry and a car on the M40 this morning.

Both were trapped in their vehicles following the crash between Junction 4 (Handy Cross) and 5 (Stokenchurch) at about 4.50am and had to be released by firefighters.

South Central Ambulance Service has now confirmed land crews took the girl to hospital with suspected chest injuries and the man was also assessed for injuries to his neck.

Lane one was closed northbound following the collision, which police officers say involved a skip loader lorry and a grey BMW.

The lane was later re-opened at about 7.30am and traffic is said to have resumed as normal.

Two fire crews from High Wycombe and one from Marlow, along with an officer, attended the crash site, while two ambulance officers were also on hand to help alongside paramedics.
