A school in Ibstone celebrated Easter with an egg-cellent woodland trail last week.

Ibstone Infant School pupils went on an Easter trail with a difference on Tuesday, March 24.

The egg hunt was themed around three chickens that the pupils have been looking after at school since they hatched last year, called Shadow, Flash and Penguin.

The pupils and their parents explored nearby woodland on the hunt for egg shaped clues to find out which one of the chicken’s had escaped and laid an egg.

The new school mascot, a life-sized chicken accompanied the children on their egg-cellent Easter activity.

The intrepid Easter eggsplorers were rewarded with a chocolate egg at the end of the trail.

Anna Driver, Chair of the PTA, said: "It was fantastic to see the children having such fun and it was truly a whole school event.  Not only did all the Ibstone school children and most of their younger siblings take part but parents, grandparents, carers and teachers as well."

Acting headteacher, Louise Bristow, said: "We love going outside and embrace learning outside the classroom.  We always have fun at our PTA events and this Easter trail shows how our imaginative small school can engage so well with our children and their families."
