The opening date of the new Tesco Express store in Stokenchurch has been announced.

The store opening has been delayed multiple times, but the site, in George Road, will be officially opened on June 19.

Staff will be hired from the local area.

Store manager Barry Collins announced the plans at the annual parish meeting on Wednesday evening.

He addressed concerns from residents about opening and delivery times, confirming that the team will look at consolidating delivery loads where possible to reduce the frequency.

He said: "We are limited by the size of vehicle we can use for delivery, but it is something we will look at doing. Until we know how busy the shop is going to be, we can't really comment on the frequency of the deliveries, but they will be subject to curfews."

Mr Collins confirmed the curfew means they can open between 7am and 11pm.

He said: "I believe that is when the opening hours will be, they certainly won't be open longer than that."
