Police are urging witnesses to come forward after a car and a cyclist crashed in Stokenchurch on Saturday. 

The crash, between a cyclist and a silver Ford Focus, happened at around 11am on the A40 Oxford Road outside the Kings Hotel on Saturday.

The 39-year-old cyclist suffered back injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

The driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed they sent an ambulance officer, ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance to the scene at 10.54am. 

The condition of the cyclist is not known. 

Investigating officer PC Colin Riley, from Amersham Roads Policing, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision and could assist with the investigation, to please contact Thames Valley Police.”
