Rihanna turns into tattoo artist?

Rihanna gave three fans permanent autographs when she turned tattoo artist recently.

The 21-year-old Umbrella singer visited New York City's East Side Ink and tattooed an umbrella on three tattoo artists at the studio.

East Side Ink owner Yadira told E! Online: "She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist Bang Bang; he decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well."

She added: "She tattooed us for a change. It's a little umbrella with a capital 'R' underneath it. The second and third had a number two and a number three next to it."

But Rihanna isn't a licensed tattoo artist and NYC Health Department spokesperson Erin Brady said: "Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City's Health Code."

But Yadria claimed Rihanna would only have been breaking the law if she had made a profit from the tattooing, and she did it for free.

An NYPD spokeswoman told E!: "Someone would have to make a complaint. There's been none that we know of."
