Conservative councillor is “disappointed” at the decision Wycombe District Council’s administration took to release the reserve sites.

Councillor David Shakespeare, representative for Tylers Green and Loudwater, said he believes the process was wrong and that the “vast areas of land” should not be made available to developers until the district assesses how many homes need to be built.

The decision to allow the release of the five reserve sites was made on Monday night’s cabinet meeting.

Speaking after the meeting, Councillor Shakespeare said: “I am very disappointed in the process that we have adopted in trying to come to this enormous decision.

“Here we are tonight deciding what land we are going to give up when in fact we don’t even know how many houses we have got to build.”
