I just walked past the new restaurant Mom's Diner, which looks really nice, but that is not what made me stop and go in. I noticed some lovely art pieces on the walls which were not the usual restaurant art pieces. I went in and inquired about the artwork and was advised, that all the art on all the walls is done by local artists who display their work at this Diner. What a great idea, we needed an art gallery in town and now we have one. Worth a visit for any art lover in Wycombe. On a side note, their food is great too.

Nags Head Lane,Great Missenden

2:45pm Monday 6th December 2010

Some weeks ago I helped Councillor Gilbert Nockles and others to raise a petition asking the County Council to reconsider its decision to allow a school double decked bus to use Nags Head Lane as a cut through to Winsor Lane as it is an inappropriate and dangerous route. I presented and spoke about the concerns at County Council on 25 November. This lane is essentially rural in nature and as such has no footways or lighting and as a result residents of all aged and conditions have to make their way extremely carefully particularly in the rush hours and when it is dark or weather is inclement. In adding a vehicle of such a size to an already stressed lane it is very worrying to parents of children and other high risk groups. We hope that the County Council will look again at this decision and agree with the views of the community who have to live with it.

Policing update from Chief Inspector Colin Seaton

Chief Inspector Colin Seaton

3:48pm Friday 15th October 2010

Last month I spoke about how vibrant our district is. There are examples of what I meant by this all over the area but perhaps one of the best examples are seen in Wycombe town centre. Policing town centres effectively at night is a partnership effort. Here in Wycombe we have taken this to another level with ‘Nightsafe’ which is a partnership that includes Thames Valley Police, Wycombe District Council, Bucks Drug and Alcohol Action Team, Pub Watch, Business Watch and Trading Standards. By working together the partnership aims to ensure Wycombe and the surrounding areas are fun, but safe places for a night out for everyone.
