A week of graduation celebrations at Bucks New University saw thousands of students celebrating as their hard work paid off.
The university, in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe, celebrates its 125th anniversary over the coming 12 months and sees around 2,000 students graduate during the week, bringing 5,000 guests with them.
Students perfected their best selfie poses for the celebrations, which saw ceremonies held at the Wycombe Swan Theatre.
Professor Rebecca Bunting, Vice-Chancellor, said: “Our students come from all over the country and across the world and when they graduate are sought-after by employers.
“Some 94.5 per cent of our graduates were in work or further study at the latest census point. Our students are highly motivated, creative and innovative. They are also altruistic. The university is very proud of its graduates and their efforts.”
The Chief Nursing Officer for England and the head of creative at Google are among figures receiving honorary degrees from the university this week.
Jane Cummings, England’s most senior nurse in the NHS received an honorary doctorate, and Olivier Rabenschlag, based at Google in Los Angeles, graduated from Bucks New University in 2002 with a first-class degree in Graphic Design and Advertising and was given an honorary master’s.
