Funding Boost for local housebuilders

Topland, the international investment group, has taemed up with Wolsey Securities, specialists in residential development finance, with the aim of investing in excess of £150million in housebuildig directed to developers in the locatins such a South Bucks and other communting areas in the SE.

Help the NHS to develop Better Healthcare in Bucks

People in Buckinghamshire are being invited to take part in a series of involvement events in September to discuss how health services should be developed and delivered in the future. The invitation comes from Dr Graz Luzzi, Medical Director of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, and Dr Geoff Payne, Medical Director of the NHS Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Cluster.

2370 (Denham) Squadron 50th Anniversary Open Day 10th September 10am-4pm

2370 (Denham) Squadron is part of the Air Cadet Organisation — a uniformed youth organisation parented and supported by the Royal Air Force. It offers cadets the opportunity to regularly take part in a varied range of interesting and stimulating activities that most young people don’t normally have access to, including: flying, gliding, adventure training, shooting, sports, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and much, much more.

Village Show

Sunday 11 September is the day of our Village Show, the 36th to be organised by the Farnhams & Hedgerley Horticultural Society. The show takes place at the Village Hall, Victoria Road, Farnham Common and features displays of fruit, vegetables, and flowers plus exhibits of flower arranging, cakes & preserves, photography, wines and beers, and crafts including work by children. Doors open at 2pm and the afternoon ends with the presentation of prizes for the best exhibits, an auction of produce, and a raffle. The show schedule has full details and is available from local shops. Entries close on Saturday 10 September.

A local High Wycombe family will be opening the doors to their very special home this September. The home in Totteridge has been dubbed "Superhome59" after becoming the 59th such Superhome in Great Britain in August 2010. To qualify these homes have had to undergo a retrofit to reduce thier carbon footprints by at least 60%. Superhome 59 qualified with an impressive 90% cut. Superhomes open to the public at regular intervals during the year and this opening coincides with Heritage Open days.

BMI THE CHILTERN HOSPITAL DIRECTOR CYCLES 250 MILES ACROSS RURAL AFRICA RAISING OVER £4,000 FOR CHARITY

Adrian Peake, Executive Director at BMI The Chiltern Hospital on London Road, raised over £4,000 by completing the 250 mile ‘Big Heart Bike Ride’ across Tanzania. Adrian joined a group of 34 men and women, helping to raise in total over £55,000 for four heart charities including, The British Heart Foundation, Tiny Tickers, Cardiac risk in the Young and Heart UK. The 5 day cycle took the fundraisers over 4,000 feet above sea level, travelling over some of the roughest terrain in East Africa, which required both mental and physical determination.

Hospice 'Funraising' Evening

Residents of Chichester Close sheltered housing scheme and their friends enjoyed a fish and chip supper followed by an evening of music last Friday 5th August to help raise money for the south Bucks Hospice.
