Softcat's employees celebrate
A MARLOW IT firm has been celebrating this week as it was announced its revenue has topped the £300 million mark.
Softcat, which operates from Fieldhouse Lane, burst through the £200m revenue barrier just one year ago and has continued to grow.
The company has been recruiting heavily to ensure it can keep ahead of customer demand. Its headcount has doubled to almost 450 staff in the last two years and is expected to reach 500 within the next few months. It is currently planning its move to a new head office in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, to help support its expansion.
Martin Hellawall, Softcat's MD, said this week: "In the next financial year we will continue to focus our energy on our employees and customers.
"It is the hard work of the Softcat team and positive attitude towards our customers that will drive us towards our next big revenue milestone, and the one after that."
He added that the the firm is bidding farewell to chariman Peter Kelly, who is retiring. He said: "We will miss his energetic personality and stay true to the vision on which our company was founded."
Softcat appeared on both the UK’s and Europe’s Best Workplaces lists, compiled by Great Place to Work, this year The firm, whih was founded in 1993 by Mr Kelly, aims to recruit over 200 new employees in the next 12 months.It also has offices in London and Manchester.
