LOCAL STUDENTS EMBARK ON EDINBURGH TO LONDON CYCLE FOR HELP FOR HEROES

From the Tuesday 4th to Sunday 11th September 2011, Ben Malone and Will Clarke (two local 18 year olds who have just finished A Levels at John Hampden Grammar, High Wycombe) are cycling from Edinburgh Castle, to Buckingham Palace. The ride is in aid of Help for Heroes, the armed forces charity. So far the boys have raised over £2,500. Covering over 400 miles, the ride will take them through Hawick, Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham and Milton Keynes.

Having trained for months, the boys are new to tour cycling, and the event is set to be a real challenge. They will carry all their equipment and 'luggage' with them on the bike, and the route has been planned, and will be completed by just the two of them, with no external support.

Both are considering armed forces careers, and have friends or family that have served in the forces, thus making Help for Heroes an important charity for them. The event would not, however, be possible without the support of both Ashington Page estates agent (Beaconsfield) and Cepstra (UK) LTD, who have helped cover the costs of the event, and enabled the boys to raise as much money as possible.

If you would like to sponsor the boys can do so at www.bmycharity.com/h4hcycle. For those simply wishing to follow their progress or pledge their support; www.twitter.com/h4hcycle and www.facebook.com/h4hcycle or google 'h4hcycle'.
