Chesham residents are being invited to come along for a free mini health check on Saturday 25th September 2010, from 11am – 1pm in the Methodist Church Hall, Bellingdon Road, Chesham.

At the event, NHS Buckinghamshire is offering residents of Chesham a range of free health tests, including blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checks. The event will also provide residents with advice on various health topics, such as smoking cessation and losing weight, and there will be an opportunity to have free taster sessions of massage and reflexology. The event will be attended by a wide variety of organisations, including opticians providing simple eye checks, the Stroke Association, NEXUS and the County Council’s Adult Social Care team among others.

Deborah Taylor, Partnership Development Manager NHS Buckinghamshire, said: “The event is open to everyone, and provides a great opportunity for local people to have their health checked in a welcoming environment.

“Small changes make a big difference when it comes to your health. NHS and other health professionals will be on hand to offer information and advice to help you make positive changes to your lifestyle. I hope that as many people as possible will take the opportunity to come along and join us.”

The event has been jointly organised by NHS Buckinghamshire, Buckinghamshire County Council, Chiltern District Council, Carers Bucks and the Chesham Asian Welfare Society.
