A ROYAL day out for members as we visit Prince Charles' gardens at Highgrove at the end of September. Also trips to London Docklands and Winchester are arranged.
Over the summer we have been collecting litter along the roads and recreation areas of Terriers and will continue to have regular tidy up mornings as part of the Big Tidy Up 2008 Campaign.
Jill Stevens and Cilia Carter have been to York on a WI Beaujolais training and tasting day and will be sharing their new knowledge after our AGM in November.
The Air Ambulance Service was the subject of our speaker, who told the helicopter for our area is based at RAF Benson, although the helicopter is very basic it is fully equipped to cope with any emergency. The service is expensive to run, however, and it is only paid for by donations.
Our next meeting is October 2 when our speakers are Jean Nettleton and Val Hayward on Adventures in the Gambia.
Please come and join us in the main hall of Cedar Park School, Cedar Avenue, Hazlemere at 7.45pm. Visitors are always welcome.
