A CHURCH tree will be lit up to honour and celebrate the lives of patients touched by a local hospice.

The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home will be holding the Light up a Life Dedication ceremony at the Union Baptist Church, High Wycombe.

Families from all over the county can sponsor a light for a loved one who has been treated by the hospice in the last 23 years.

Robert Breakwell, the event organiser said: “This ceremony is a chance for people to feel close to their loved ones who have been lost through illness this Christmas”.

He added: “It is also a chance to raise some vital funds for the hospice that has provided care for the unwell throughout the years”.

The hospice provides a specialist nursing care for patients in the Chilterns area of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire with a terminal or life-threatening illness.

The lights will be switched on by Mayor Henry Wilson on Sunday 7th December at 3.45pm. The money raised will support the work of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home nurses who care for terminally ill patients in their own homes throughout the Chilterns area.

If you would like to sponsor a light, further details are available from IRHH on 01442 890222, or by e-mailing fundraising@irhh.org.
