Basically Lynn’s a winner

AN entry has flooded into my competition to find the most clichéd phrase in Bucks.

Lynn Gibbs, of New Road, High Wycombe, submitted the following: “He’s Bucks, strong in the arm, thick in the head.”

Lynn also submitted the word ‘basically’ at the beginning and end of every sentence. Well, these two have won her first prize – the American football Wii game DVD thingy that’s been lying in my office for months.

Prize is basically in the post to you, Lynn.

They used to say years ago 'Marlow born Marlow bred - strong in arm weak in head' and 'Oi can't read nor wroite but I can drive a tractot cos' I comes from Marlow (pronounced 'Mahler')'. Now Marlow is a Thames Valley commuter town.

Basically the bottom line is that the most cliched word is 'innit' - innit?
