Ban the bus lane just the ticket

BACKCHAT readers have written in to support my decade-long fight to ban the bus lane on High Wycombe’s London Road.

Michael Edwards, of Bowden Lane, High Wycombe, responded enthusiastically after I moaned about the A40 in last week’s column.

He said: “I would seriously suggest that it’s about time a serious petition commences to abolish the bus lane, cancel the traffic lights after rush hour, cancel the new business park ...”

He added: “I will back you 100 per cent and I am sure you would get massive support.”

Susan Knibbs, of Warren Wood Drive, said of my campaign: “You have my vote.” And she asked of the London Road: “Will it ever get better?”

Doubt it Susan. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ignored us all and then tried building another bus lane in the opposite direction
