Invited guests showed their support for the ‘invaluable service’ provided to the local community by the professional advisers who have helped local people to save over £1.25million in the last year.

Paul Gosling, Chair of Chiltern CAB welcomed guests into the new offices saying “Moving to Townsend Road is a milestone for the Charity as it provides greater capacity for us to see more people in need. We now have room to move and we see sunlight...occasionally! “. He went on to thank the Local Area Forums, Gannett Trust, Amersham Lions, Chesham Rotary Club, The Entertainer, Clarkes and new landlords Paradigm Housing and the many volunteers from the charity who helped to make the move happen, concluding “To you all, a big Thank You”.

Mike Dixon, Deputy Chief Executive of Citizens Advice showed his support for the outstanding work of Chiltern CAB. “The new Chesham offices of Chiltern Bureaux mark another fantastic step forward for Citizens Advice, and will make sure that people in the Chilterns have the independent, free and straightforward advice for which we are famous. I'm particularly pleased that the building offers such good space for clients - it's certainly a big improvement on the very first bureaux - one of which was a converted horse box that parked next to bombed out areas more than 70 years ago.”

After cutting the ribbon, Cheryl Gillan met with staff and volunteers who demonstrated Chiltern CAB’s work on money advice, employment, housing, keeping warm in winter, tackling child poverty and social policy. She told them “I’m here to recognise and give thanks to all that you have done. The people who give up their time to Citizens Advice enter into voluntary work to help other people, and that is the motivation behind everyone elected representative. It’s about putting something back in to the community.”
