Poor Raymond Blanc

I bought the Midweek this morning and as I turned to page six my eye was immediately drawn to the photograph of Raymond Blanc. I couldn't believe that he is totally red! The photo' accompanies an article about him opening a patisserie in Beaconsfield near the existing Jungs bakery. I know there is a lot of support for the existing bakery,but photoshopping Raymond to make him look demon-like is a bit harsh! He only wants to open a patisserie, afterall.

Someone recommended it to me and I'm all for high-quality cakes. But heavens above, I showed the waiter what I wanted and got something completely different and the place was appalling.

Try 'Pauls patisserie' in London and there's one at Marylebone station now (though closes around 5.00 or so). That's a patisserie.
