Keeping cool in the hot weather

The weather is too hot for me.

While some may like the warmer temperatures for people who are obese like my good self the heat is simply too much to bear.

Moving around at the best of times is difficult for me due to my tremendous size but the warm weather just makes things even worse.

In a desperate attempt to keep cool every cooling fan in my home has been pressed into service indeed as a result my daily electricity usage rate has gone up by nearly 15%.

To have such heat this early in the year is quite extraordinary as we usually only endure such dreadful weather in late July and August.

So how do you keep cool in this weather?

To gain relief I have been eating as many ice creams and drinking as much fizzy pop as possible.

In days gone by gentlemen would wear shorts but in these modern times most men would not dare be seen in shorts.

Sandals were popular too years ago but how many men are brave enough to be seen in them now?

At lunchtime today I happened to see a couple of men walking around without their shirts on, to be honest I thought it rather crude.

For some reason people seem to think that taking their clothes off will help them to cool down. Quite honestly I find it disgusting.

Wearing light coloured clothes will help to reflect the suns rays and cool you down far better than wearing nothing at all.

Only the other day I happened to go for a walk on the Rye and saw a lady sunbathing wearing not very much at all.

Naturally I turned my head away but from the slight glimpse that I did see she looked as red as a roasting joint of beef rather than having an even all over tan.

Maybe people should start wearing hats to help cool them down?

A simple knotted hanky is enough to keep the sun off your head indeed over the years it has become my trademark as yours truly is always using my trusty hanky for a hat. But make sure the hanky is a clean one....

Quite honestly I would rather have a snowy December day when I can stay indoors in the warm after all its very easy to get warm in the winter but very difficult to get cool in the summer.

Maybe you have some tips to keep cool in the summer that perhaps you would like to share with us?
