HEALTH screening and preventive treatment is forming more of the activity of the NHS. Marlow Music Makers are having a busy weekend, among them some enthusiastic valley members. The choir’s Christmas concert season started on Wednesday, and continues tonight, Friday and Saturday, December 5 and 6 at the United Reformed Church, Oxford Road, Marlow, at 7.30pm. The £10 tickets include a glass of wine and light refreshments and MMM will make a donation to Helen and Douglas House.

CHRISTINGLE service at St Mary’s will be celebrated in the church at 4pm on Sunday, December 14. The event will raise money for the Children’s Society.

The Crib service will be at 4pm on December 24 at St Mary’s. This is specially for young families and children are invited to dress as a nativity character. On Christmas Day there will be a service of Holy Communion at 9.30am.

VALLEY Plus holds its last meeting of 2014 at 2pm on Tuesday, December 9 with its Christmas social. Refreshments will be provided, and some of the singers from Marlow Music Makers will entertain and join in with the audience in carol singing. It’s in the chapel as usual.

CHRISTMAS will mean seasonal changes for Rebellion. Their Saturday morning wine tasting sessions will be held every Saturday in December until Christmas.

THE Shepherds light and sound show in Hill Farm Road will start after dark on December 1.

Tony Shepherd was recently awarded a Hidden Gems citation by MarlowFM for raising thousands of pounds from his Christmas Tree lights display at his Marlow Bottom home.

TOMORROW, December 29, at 2pm the Village Hall Pre-School holds its Christmas Bazaar. Apart from all the traditional attractions, Marlow town band is coming to entertain all, including Father Christmas, with carols.
