Re: Abbey Barn Lane issues I have raised this issue with Highways on Call for over a month now.

During the spring the trees to the left of the bridge have no leaves, so you have a clear line of sight to see what is coming up the hill to be able to decide if the road is clear or not.

Now, to the left of the bridge, it’s overgrown and there are issues with people believing it is clear to go at the give way mark, when possibly a vehicle is coming uphill from the opposite direction.

During rush hour, this becomes worse, as people cannot see a queue of traffic past the bridge so make their way down and end up blocking the narrow passing section.

I use this route to head into and from work each day, as it bypasses the rush hour traffic on Marlow Hill and London Road, and the number of times I have had a wing mirror clipped and also had to replace the glass due to this... I feel that something urgently needs to be done about this.

The simple method is to cut back the shrubs, branches etc so that people can actually see if anything is coming up the hill to be able to make the decision.

Only this morning I drove past the give way mark to level with the wall when some idiot in an Audi TT decided to force his/her way upwards even though it is pretty tight – and from this type of behaviour I will see someone getting annoyed and carrying out road rage.

As I have brought this to the attention of Highways on Call a good few times, should I have any further damage to my vehicle, I will hold the department and local authority responsible for this as feel that we pay for these services through the council tax, road tax and every other tax we pay.

I have spoken to Highways on Call as I have been told that the person who checked this out at the beginning of May has said that there are no obstructions – please feel free to drive this route during rush hour and I’m sure you will encounter what I mean.

I am hoping this letter will be published as when something drastic happens with your knowledge of this and having been raised for over a month without any action taken, I'm sure that it would be nice to the people involved in either road rage or an accident that it was raised and nothing was done about the road safety part of it.

I now have an in-car camera to record while driving, so if I did have an accident, I have proof.
