I have every sympathy with Mr and Mrs Grant regarding the parking of cars on the pavement at the junction of Dean Street and Queen’s Road (MFP, July 18). It is a spot with a nasty accident waiting to happen.

Queens Road is a bus route, Dean Street is a fast road as a cut through from the M40 at Stokenchurch. There are two primary schools in the immediate area, one on either side of Dean Street, generating a lot of pedestrians. There is a zebra crossing but no longer a lollipop person.

As a driver and local resident, turning right from Queens Road into Dean Street is very dangerous because of the parked cars blocking sight lines. The yellow lines only go a couple of yards around the corner which is far from adequate and also unusual.

I have asked Cllr Scott about this but unfortunately his answer was that this problem has to wait until the Marlow parking review is completed. This review has taken far longer than seems necessary. One must only hope that bureaucratic delays don’t result in broken bones, or worse. — Harriet Wilson, York Road, Marlow
