So local Tory MP Dominic Grieve has departed from the Cabinet table. He is an honourable and decent man, whom I have voted for in the past.
Dominic Grieve did some excellent work in opposition, especially opposing some of Labour’s more dubious proposals, such as 90-day imprisonment without being charged and the so-called Religious Hatred Act.
Unfortunately since being elected, and despite all their talk, the Coalition have failed to stand up for Britain, and our ability to govern ourselves. Immigration continues to be a shambles, with the numbers going up recently and not down as we were promised.
Indeed, they are handing over more powers to the EU as we speak (eg: the infamous EU arrest warrant) and a further tranche of powers will be handed over on November 1.
There will be no referendum on these, despite assurances that no further powers will be handed over without one.
Now that Dominic Grieve returns to the back-benches, I look forward to seeing more of him locally and also to being his UKIP opponent at next year’s General Election. We have emerged as the only opposition to the Tories. — Tim Scott, UKIP Parliamentary Candidate for Beaconsfield Constituency
