It appears that I have hit a brick wall, although I do hope that by the time this letter goes to print that our best brains in Buckinghamshire are able to find a solution to the problem.

Under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, section 3 – it states that ‘Cars cannot be sold by the side of the road’, however second hand car traders are not silly, they can also read.. by reading into the small print our ever so clever (or not so) MPs and Lords have failed on the wording and traders move cars around, use different mobile numbers and employ people to answer phones, etc.

Therefore the police cannot do anything about getting rid of them, nor can parking wardens (BCC, etc), or WDC or anyone so it seems.

Therefore we are left with these cars taking up parking spaces along side of the roads and by a particular parade of shops I counted around nine cars all being parked displaying for sale signs on.

These spaces could of course be used by ‘shoppers’.

So who do we turn to, we all pay our tax (most of us), why then do the traders have the last laugh?

I’m sure that in your part of the town, you may have noticed some as well?

So what can we do – does anyone out there know the solution? Do other councils manage to get rid of them? Is there a legal way that it can be done?

Otherwise we just have to take it? Even though there is a law to stop them, what good is that law if they flout it?
