Following complaints about cars parking on the pavement in Dean Street, Marlow drivers should perhaps read the Highway Code.
Para 244 states: “You must not park partially or wholly on the pavement in London and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.”
One other point concerning street parking, Para 239 states, among other points: “Do not park facing against the traffic flow.” This is certainly not obeyed in Marlow High Street. — Peter Cowley, Marlow
