Muslism condemn all extremists

RE: LAST week's report that the Policy Exchange, a Tory think tank, had found seven books containing extremist' material at the independent Muslim Education Centre in High Wycombe.

OVER the last year the main Muslim institutions of High Wycombe, including the Wycombe Islamic Society (WISE) have worked hard to build good relations with the wider community.

This has included opening our centre to the general public and running courses for people of other beliefs.

So, it is with great regret that we are involved with yet another negative report from a right wing organisation.

They probably have a bigger political agenda and are using such issues to gain public support by the element of fear.

It is unfair to take things out of context or deliberately choose books with a provocative title to shock the public.

I am sure the same could be done in any public library and the result would be the same if that were our aim.

As an example Jesus says, according to the Bible: "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword" (Mathew 10:34-39 NASB).

Christians are very peaceful and decent and would know the true meaning of this.

However, it could be taken by some to mean that Jesus promoted violence.

The vast majority of Muslims wish to live peacefully with their neighbours. We all condemn all forms of extremists including politically-biased think tanks.
