Roof needs extending

Comments (1)MANY things have been said about the new Eden shopping centre in the town, but on the whole most people think as I do that it is a big improvement and something we should enjoy.
The one thing I cannot get my head around is why they never continued the roof up to the new library.
I went to town on Wednesday to watch Prince Edward open the new centre and stood outside Marks & Spencer for half an hour waiting for the event to start.
It was pouring with rain and everybody coming out of what must be the most popular store in the new centre had to resort to putting on coats or raising umberellas to walk the 54 yards to cover. They even supplied the prince with a brolly to walk the short distance to reach the dry area. To me madness.
The council should think about finding the money and extending the roof so you can visit all shops without getting wet.
