I AM absolutely appalled at what is happening in High Wycombe, and I don't mean the new Eden shopping centre.

What I'm worried about is the brick bungalows that are springing up like mushrooms, in back gardens. They are completely out of character with the areas in which they are being built behind 1920s and 30s houses.

Who at the planning department has turned a blind eye to these?

After all, it wasn't long ago that permission had to be sought for a wooden shed to be put in the garden.

High Wycombe used to be such a select area, but is now beginning to look hideous.
