RE: The campaign in our Marlow edition for Wycombe District Council to refund parking fines imposed on the 92 drivers who displayed the wrong part of the ticket at Sainsbury’s, Marlow.
OH come on Free Press – you are not surely really serious in proposing that parking fines incurred in Sainsbury’s car park should be refunded are you?
Here I think the council and their enforcement officers are perfectly correct.
Those regular Sainsbury’s shoppers will know that the same system is in operation at most of their stores. It is symptomatic of the current lifestyle – everything is done in far too much of a rush and drivers do not look carefully at the parking ticket before displaying the correct portion.
Or as Jeremy Clarkson might say: “If you do not know which is the correct part of the ticket to display maybe you should not be holding a driving licence!”
