No, I am not joyless

RE: The recent complaint on these pages that some people’s enjoyment of the Osmonds at the Swan theatre had been spoilt by others dancing in front of them

I WAS very upset about what somebody said about me being a joyless individual [Julie West, Letters, June 1].

I love dancing and enjoying myself and I like the Osmonds very much. I wouldn’t have called it a pop concert, that is where mostly young people go.

This is a theatre where it covers all ages. I didn’t mind them standing and dancing for a short period of time. I have done it myself but not for the whole performance, especially when they were singing the slow ones and showing the video – they can’t dance to that. Also there were not many seats available it was packed. I would like to thank Mr Tanner for backing me on this matter [Letters, May 25].

That is all I am going to say on the matter.

Apparently only young people go to pop concerts.

I am 48 - I still go to see groups and bands - as do many people my age.
And.. OMG we dance as well!
Outrageous behaviour :)))

While people are still playing rock and roll and my knees are still working.....

Thing that gets me is that modern regulations seem to limit the volume a bit too much. I saw Hawkwind a few months ago and my ears weren't bleeding by the end. Was much better back in the '70s

But that was before you you destroyed your hearing tackle listening to groups like that.
.
If it's any consolation the band members may be even more deaf than you.
.
Speak up please.
