Are they trying to deter shoppers from town?
1:30pm Tuesday 17th July 2012 in Your Letters
I WONDER if the company who run Eden are as draconian when running their other car parks – or whether they are deliberately attempting to deter shoppers from coming to High Wycombe.
Last Wednesday I parked in Eden. There were several people waiting to pay. I knew I was close to two hours so I decided to leave the queue and take the lift to the first floor. There was one person by the pay station so by the time I got my card in I was ONE MINUTE late.
The machine charged me £2.50 – it added 70p for one minute!
I spoke in to the ‘Help’ speaker saying I was one minute late and explained why. A jovial voice (probably an ex parking meter warden, or clamper) said: “That’s right, have a nice day!”
