Why are car park fees dearer and confusing?

HAS anyone else found that the charges for Newlands car park [Eden centre, High Wycombe] is now dearer?

For years I have gone into Tesco’s to pick up my wife with the shopping at around 5.45pm and leave around 6.15 and it was £1. But now it is £1.70! When I queried this via the help button a robotic lady told me this has always been the tariff.

Well we have shopped here for years and it has always been £1 before 6pm! When I told her the tariff board on level 2 stated 0-1 hr was .70p she told me it was a different tariff at the entry barriers. Surely there must be a legal argument here of mis-information?
