YES, yes, yes. How very much I agree with Michael Clifford’s comments. Many wild flowers are getting rarer and the grass bank in question is indeed now an eyesore. Money saved by the council having to frequently maintain it, could be used for better things (perhaps packets of wild flower seeds!) The fact that bees are in such short supply means that less pollination takes place and this puts up the price of fruit and vegetables, so we must encourage these valiant little insects as much as possible.
There are now fewer sightings of butterflies, though admittedly the weather has not helped.
When will some far-sighted people see sense and give pleasure to children and elderly by conserving our glorious ‘un-tamed’ flowers?
